To addressthis gap, the authors conducted a Systematic literature review and explored theexisting research on CCPT and ACEs with a goal to explore the utility of child-centeredplay therapy to demonstrate significant therapeutic outcomes for children with a historyof trauma. The authors identified 32 between group design research studies exploringeffect of CCPT on children experiencing ACES including childhood poverty, systemicdiscrimination, attachment difficulties, abuse, and parental incarceration. Additionally, the authors assessed the research quality and potential sources of biases within theidentified studies. Findings indicate a need for more systematic research, potentialmethodological limitations within the current studies, and promising results for the useof CCPT with children who experience ACEs.
Inhaled methoxyflurane (Penthrox) for analgesia in trauma: a systematic review protocol
Transmitting Trauma: A systematic review of vicarious racism and child health
Metrics details. Trauma tertiary surveys TTS are advocated to reduce the rate of missed injuries in hospitalized trauma patients. Moreover, the missed injury rate can be a quality indicator of trauma care performance. Current variation of the definition of missed injury restricts interpretation of the effect of the TTS and limits the use of missed injury for benchmarking. Only a few studies have specifically assessed the effect of the TTS on missed injury. We aimed to systematically appraise these studies using outcomes of two common definitions of missed injury rates and long-term health outcomes.
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in trauma patients: a systematic review
Metrics details. Pre-hospital major incident medical management may be improved through the collection and analysis of standardized data. Improvements in this field have been advocated in the previous years. This study was designed to identify templates reporting such management.
Metrics details. Methoxyflurane is a fluorinated hydrocarbon gas which has analgesic properties when inhaled. Penthrox is a methoxyflurane autoinhaler recently licenced in Europe. Its ease of administration, safety, and fast onset of action make it of particular relevance to emergency medicine. Additionally, outside the hospital, it has the advantage of increased temperature stability and portability over current standard care.
